Chirchir sets January start for Nakuru-Bomet-Migori road project

Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir has announced that construction of a 143-kilometre road linking four counties will begin in January next year.

Chirchir made the announcement on June 6 during a public event in Bomet County. He said the project, funded by the World Bank, will link Nakuru, Narok, Bomet and Migori counties. The road will pass through areas including Elburgon, Molo and Awendo. It is expected to cut travel time and boost trade between tea and sugarcane regions. The project forms part of President William Ruto’s Singapore Dream plan targeting 28,000 kilometres of tarmacked roads nationwide within seven years. Contractors are already on site for other rehabilitation works in the county.
