Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt outlined plans to investigate Governor Gavin Newsom for alleged misuse of tax funds. The former reality star said the probe would involve the IRS and could sideline Newsom from the 2028 presidential race.
Pratt made the comments during a recent appearance on the 'No Jumper' podcast. He promised to expose fraud in the outgoing administration once elected and recover misspent money for city neighborhoods and youth programs. 'As mayor, I’ll be exposing his fraud with our tax money,' Pratt said. He added that investigators would trace assets such as Bentleys and houses to return funds to parks and after-school clubs. Reality television producer Doug Ellin endorsed Pratt, citing a surge in home burglaries. Ellin said Los Angeles 'has collapsed in the last five years' and criticized critics who question Pratt’s lack of political experience. Pratt was polling second behind incumbent Mayor Karen Bass ahead of the June 2 primary.
