የሕክምና ሙከራዎች አዳዲስ መድኃኒቶችንና ክትባቶችን ደኅንነትና ውጤታማነት ይፈትሻሉ። ከካንሰር ሕክምና እስከ ኮቪድ-19 ክትባቶች ድረስ ብዙ ዘመናዊ ሕክምናዎች ከእነዚህ ሂደቶች የመነጩ ናቸው።
የኢትዮጵያ ምግብ እና መድኃኒት ባለስልጣን በአገሪቱ የሚካሄዱ ሙከራዎችን ይቆጣጠራል። ይህም የተሳታፊዎችን ደኅንነትና መብት ለመጠበቅ እና ሳይንሳዊ ተዓማኒነትን ለማረጋገጥ ይረዳል።
