New Xbox CEO Asha Sharma outlined her vision for the platform in a Bloomberg Tech Live interview. She addressed the balance between exclusive content and broad game distribution.
Sharma said platforms require exclusives to succeed while also needing to reach large audiences as a top publisher. She described the issue as tough and said the company is examining each title thoughtfully. The executive confirmed her decision to end the Xbox Copilot initiative. She added that her mandate focuses on making Xbox the leading gaming and entertainment company rather than hitting 30 percent profit margins. Sharma also spoke about rising hardware costs due to AI, memory, and storage. She said Microsoft continues to subsidize consoles like the Xbox Series S and Series X while planning an affordable Project Helix next-generation device.
