A low-mileage 2016 Healy Enigma, known for its appearance in the British soap opera Emmerdale, is up for auction on PistonHeads UK. This retro-inspired sports car combines classic Austin Healey styling with reliable Mazda MX-5 components. Registered in March 2016, it has covered fewer than 15,000 miles and remains ULEZ compliant.
The Healy Enigma draws inspiration from the classic Austin Healey, featuring retro-inspired glass fibre bodywork over a custom steel chassis built around the third-generation Mazda MX-5 running gear. This particular example, registered on 1 March 2016, appeared in an episode of Emmerdale in 2019, earning it the nickname 'the Emmerdale car'. With under 15,000 miles from new, it offers Mazda reliability in a distinctive package.
Mechanically, the car is powered by a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated inline-four engine from Mazda, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. It holds a current MOT valid until 15 July 2026 with no advisories, and documentation includes a service book, full pack, invoices, old MOT certificates, and a V5 currently in trade. An HPI check confirms it is clear. Recent maintenance includes alloy wheel refurbishment, and it complies with London's Ultra Low Emission Zone standards.
The exterior in Casino Royal grey shows typical light stone chips on the front end, a small pin-like indentation on the boot panel, a cracked third brake light housing, and minor blemishes around the A-pillars, door handles, and high-traffic areas. The folding roof is in good order with some storage marks, and all wheels are in excellent condition without kerb rash. Inside, black quilted leather seats are heated and benefit from air-conditioning and a double-din stereo with Bluetooth. However, the seats show water marks and stains requiring valeting, alongside light wear on the centre console, scuffing on door sill covers, and blemishes on the dashboard. The boot is tidy, though carpet wear is noted around the lock area. No mechanical faults are reported.
Viewings are available in Arundel, Sussex, until the day before the auction ends.
