Andrade El Idolo defended his AEW National Championship in a three-way match against Jack Perry and Nick Wayne during the July 29 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The match opened the show at the Masonic Temple Theater in Detroit, Michigan. Andrade secured the pinfall victory after delivering the DM to Nick Wayne.
Andrade had won the title from Mark Davis at the Redemption event the previous Sunday. Perry had previously held the championship earlier in the year.
Following the match, Andrade spoke with Tony Schiavone and expressed satisfaction at taking the Dynamite Diamond Ring from MJF while also targeting Don Callis. When asked about participating in a qualification match for the Casino Gauntlet at All In, Andrade replied, "How you know?"
