Nollywood actress Anita Joseph has publicly asked her estranged husband, MC Fish, to stop involving her in his online disputes as she seeks to move on in the new year. This follows MC Fish's defense against claims that he financially depended on her during their five-year marriage. The exchange highlights tensions in their recent separation.
On January 3, 2026, Nollywood actress Anita Joseph responded to comments from her estranged husband, Fisayo Michael, known as MC Fish, via her Instagram story. She urged him to cease dragging her into public arguments, emphasizing her desire for positivity in the new year.
"Memo to my ex. I don’t want to run in the mud with you," Joseph wrote. "Please, this is a new year. If you have whatever you want to say, please say it now and let me get on with my life."
She clarified that she was unaware of his online conflicts and pleaded, "I don’t know who you are fighting with online, but please leave me out of whatever you are fighting. This new year is growth and all positivity for me. Stop dragging me back with your mess." Her message concluded with a firm "Shalom!! Leave me alone!!!"
This came hours after MC Fish, a hypeman and master of ceremonies with over 15 years in the entertainment industry, addressed accusations of being a gold digger on his Instagram. He rejected the narrative that he relied on Joseph financially during their five-year marriage.
"You will be the fool of 2026 to think that I don’t work for my money. Because you can’t afford me doesn’t mean I don’t work," Fish stated. He challenged, "I dare her to say she took care of the bills by herself in the five years of that marriage."
Fish expressed frustration with public perceptions of his profession, noting, "This Hypeman narrative dey annoy me sometimes." He claimed to have supported Joseph's career by setting up her business, monetizing her social media, and serving as her manager, PR, personal assistant, and security provider at events.
Despite his contributions, Fish felt unfairly labeled. He ended with a pointed remark: "For everyone that opened their mouth to insult my job, I prophesy that your children and children’s children will all be hypemen/MCs… but in Jesus’ name, Ase gun."
Joseph did not engage with his specific claims, focusing instead on disengaging from the drama. The couple's separation has drawn attention amid ongoing discussions in Nigeria's entertainment circles about relationships and financial dynamics in marriages.
