Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, ranks among the top 10 greater Philadelphia courses and will host the 108th PGA Championship this week.
The Donald Ross-designed course opened in 1926 and has long been recognized for its quality. Gary Player captured the PGA title there in 1962. Doug Borgerson, boys’ golf coach at Episcopal Academy, placed Aronimink sixth on his list of the region’s best layouts, calling it a “big ballpark” suited for major events.
