Aston Villa are closing in on a deal for Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho. The clubs are discussing an initial loan with an option to buy.
Aston Villa are in advanced talks to sign Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho on an initial loan deal that could include an obligation to buy. The 21-year-old Argentina international was made available for transfer last month. Chelsea initially valued him at £43 million but remain open to a permanent sale.
Talks have intensified after Chelsea agreed a club-record £117 million deal for Morgan Rogers from Villa. That signing is set to complete in the coming days. Garnacho and striker Nicolas Jackson were both discussed in separate negotiations.
If completed, Garnacho would become Villa’s fourth summer signing after Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes and Modou Kaba Cisse. Villa have raised close to £200 million from sales including Youri Tielemans, Donyell Malen, Enzo Barrenechea and Lewis Dobbin.
Chelsea signed Garnacho from Manchester United for £40 million last September. United would receive 10 percent of any future fee. The winger has scored once in the Premier League this season.
