Birkenstock and Repetto to launch footwear collaboration

Birkenstock and Repetto have created a joint collection that merges the German brand's signature comfort with the French label's ballet flat heritage. The items go on sale July 16.

The collaboration reimagines three Birkenstock silhouettes with Repetto details. The Arizona appears in gingham checks finished with glossy patent leather. The Opéra gains satin ankle ties and dainty bows, while the Scala takes the form of a classic ballet flat with a round toe, two thin straps, and a signature bow.

Birkenstock 1774, the brand's experimental line, provides the platform for such partnerships. Repetto, founded in Paris in 1947, supplies its legacy of dance footwear favored by figures including Jane Birkin and later Kate Moss.

The collection becomes available July 16 through 1774.com, Repetto.com, Repetto channels, and selected retailers worldwide.
