The Federal District Civil Police and the Public Ministry launched Operation Black-Tie on Wednesday to investigate an alleged corruption scheme.
The operation was launched by the PCDF's Corruption Repression Division together with the MPDFT. Six search warrants were executed at properties in Planaltina, the Northwest Region and the Anexo do Palácio do Buriti.
Former Economy Secretary Ney Ferraz from the Ibaneis Rocha administration and commissioned advisor Luiz Carlos de Sousa are targets. Police seized a pen drive from Sousa's desk. He earns R$ 13 thousand at the Economy Secretariat and an additional R$ 2 thousand as a counselor at the Sports Support Fund.
Investigations began in February 2025 after financial movements incompatible with the declared economic capacity of those under investigation were identified. The case remains under judicial secrecy and includes asset preservation measures.
The Economy Secretariat stated that the warrant concerns a server linked to the previous administration and that the department is cooperating with authorities.
