WHP Global and Marquee Brands have bought two prominent luxury fashion houses in the past week. The moves reflect a broader push by such firms into premium brands.

In the past week WHP Global acquired Marc Jacobs while Marquee Brands took ownership of Roberto Cavalli. These deals add to earlier purchases of labels including Vera Wang, Off-White and Palm Angels by similar management companies such as Authentic and Bluestar Alliance.
