The Milwaukee Bucks are seeking a substantial return for two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo if he does not sign an extension this October. Trade talks have intensified with the 2026 NBA Draft less than a week away.
Multiple teams have described the Bucks' demands as unrealistic, according to league sources. Milwaukee general manager Jon Horst has set ambitious prices that would leave acquiring teams without enough talent to contend for a championship.
The Bucks prefer to retain Antetokounmpo but would trade him rather than lose him in free agency next summer without compensation. Antetokounmpo has one guaranteed year remaining on his contract.
The Detroit Pistons are expected to trade forward Isaiah Stewart this summer. Stewart, who averaged 10 points and five rebounds last season, has drawn interest from the Bucks, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs.
The Celtics are also projected to pursue roster changes. They have expressed interest in moving up from the No. 27 draft pick and have fielded inquiries about Jaylen Brown and Derrick White.
