Casio has released its Edifice Sospensione x Honda collaboration watch in the US, commemorating the 60th anniversary of Honda's first Formula 1 victory in 1965. The design draws inspiration from the Honda RA272 car that secured the win. The limited-edition timepiece features elements mimicking the car's appearance and includes standard Casio functionalities.
The 77th FIA Formula World Championship season begins this weekend in Australia, prompting the rollout of limited-edition watches for racing enthusiasts. Casio joins the trend with its Edifice Sospensione x Honda model, now available in the US after a delay from late last year.
This watch honors the 60th anniversary of Honda's inaugural Formula 1 victory in 1965, using the Honda RA272 as a design influence. The timepiece is built on the Casio Edifice Sospensione base, incorporating a white leather strap with red lining that echoes the car's aesthetics. The dial includes red accents and Honda branding to further tribute the vehicle's look.
Constructed from carbon, stainless steel, and resin, the watch is water resistant up to 100 meters. It offers automatic time adjustment, an automatic calendar extending to 2099, world time for 300 cities in 38 time zones, and stopwatch data transfer. Additional features include a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and Neobrite for low-light visibility after light absorption.
Priced at $400 (approximately £300), it sits at the higher end of the Edifice range. Currently exclusive to the US market, the watch appeals to Formula 1 fans with its ties to a pivotal moment in racing history.
