David Jordà, the highest-ranked tennis player from Catalonia, has described how he funds his own equipment despite recent on-court success. The 32-year-old Spaniard captured two Challenger titles in 2026 and reached the world’s top 200 for the first time.
Jordà won his first Challenger title in Istanbul in May at the age of 31. Three weeks later he claimed a second title in Lyon on June 14. The results lifted him inside the top 200 for the first time.
He told Punto de Break that he purchases his own shoes, rackets, strings and clothing. In his most recent match he wore Uniqlo pants, a Hanta shirt, Artengo socks and ASICS sneakers.
Born in Tarragona in 1994, Jordà has dealt with injuries and inconsistent results in recent seasons. He now works with coach Pepe Juárez and other support staff based in Andorra and Tarragona.
Jordà aims to reach the US Open qualifying draw in late August. He is also scheduled to marry in October.
