Former Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch sees strong similarities between third-round rookie Gennings Dunker and Hall of Famer Alan Faneca. Dunker is expected to transition from offensive tackle in college to guard in the NFL. The comparison comes as Pittsburgh seeks to fill a gap at left guard after losing Isaac Seumalo.
Batch praised Dunker’s physical tools during recent comments on the team’s YouTube channel. “Dunker has all the physical attributes that you want for a guard,” Batch said. “He understands he has an opportunity to start at this point. He reminds me so much of Alan Faneca.”
