Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch expressed strong confidence that the team will defend its AFC North title this season. Speaking on his podcast, Batch argued that many are underestimating the Steelers' potential.
Batch made the comments Wednesday on his Snap Count podcast. He said the addition of head coach Mike McCarthy, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. will allow Pittsburgh to score more points while also improving on defense.
The Steelers captured the AFC North crown last season for the first time since 2020, though they again exited the playoffs in the first round. Batch noted that analysts currently favor the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals but stressed that Pittsburgh should not be overlooked.
Repeating as division winners would mark a rare achievement. The Steelers have finished first in back-to-back years only twice since the division formed in 2002, during the 2007-08 and 2016-17 seasons.
