Chilean actress Teresa Berrios Tapia died on Sunday aged 103. Chileactores and the Ministry of Cultures confirmed the death and highlighted her long career in radio drama and television.
The Chileactores corporation announced the death through a statement on social media. “We regret to communicate the death of our dear colleague, actress Teresa Berrios Tapia. With more than one hundred years of life, Teresa was one of the longest-lived artists in our organization,” the entity stated.
The Ministry of Cultures, the Arts and Heritage also lamented the news. It highlighted that her career led her to voice memorable radio drama spaces and that her commitment to the performing arts forms part of the country’s cultural heritage.
The funeral will take place this Sunday, 24 May at 16:00 in the Cementerio General. The wake is being held at the Iglesia Santa María de Las Condes, on Avenida Las Condes 9700. Her works include the series “Machos”, “Mea Culpa”, “Fuera de Control”, “Oro Verde” and “El día menos pensado”.
