Franco Colapinto completed qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix in 13th place and will start the Sunday race from there. The Argentine driver finished two tenths behind teammate Pierre Gasly, who starts 12th.
The Argentine reached Q2 but did not advance to Q3. Colapinto said the Q2 was not good due to tire temperature issues.
“I think I was capable of more,” the driver said after the session. Gasly also failed to reach Q3.
Lando Norris secured pole position by 12 thousandths over Lewis Hamilton, who received a penalty and will start fifth. Charles Leclerc completed the qualifying podium.
