The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has summoned Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda in connection with the July 3 attack on the Linda Mwananchi convoy in Kisii County. Seven suspects have been arrested so far as investigations continue.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has summoned Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda to the Kisii County DCI office to record a statement. The summons relates to the Friday, July 3 incident in which several vehicles in the Linda Mwananchi convoy were stoned along the Kisii-Keroka Road.
DCI and the National Police Service confirmed the arrest of seven suspects in total. Three suspects were taken into custody on Saturday, July 4, followed by four more in a subsequent operation led by the OCS Keumbu and DCI Kisii Central.
Among the damaged vehicles was that of former Chief Justice David Maraga. Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna reported the matter to Inspector General Douglas Kanja and called for swift action against those responsible. Investigations remain ongoing with additional suspects being pursued.
