Dean McDermott marked a major milestone this week by announcing three years of sobriety. The 59-year-old reality star shared the news via Instagram on June 26, crediting family, friends and a 12-step program.
McDermott posted a video encouraging others struggling with addiction to reach out for help. “It all started with surrendering and asking for help,” he wrote. “Hell has an exit,” he added, noting the best decision he ever made.
He previously linked his substance issues to the 2023 split from Tori Spelling, admitting alcohol-fueled rages created isolation. The former couple recently appeared together at daughter Stella’s high school graduation.
McDermott also shares son Jack with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace. He urged followers facing their darkest days to ask for support, saying none of us can do it alone.
