Delhi police file 527-page chargesheet against self-styled godman in flyover murders

Delhi Police filed a 527-page chargesheet on Wednesday against Kamruddin alias Baba, the sole accused in the triple murder case near Peeragarhi Flyover. The self-styled godman faces charges for the murders of six people in connection with an occult ritual called Dhanvarsha. The latest victims were found dead in a car last February.

The chargesheet was submitted to a court in connection with the deaths of Randhir Singh, Shiv Naresh Singh and Laxmi Devi. Their bodies were discovered near the Peeragarhi Flyover in Outer Delhi in February 2026. Police said Kamruddin is also accused of two earlier killings, one in Rajasthan in 2014 and another in 2025.

Investigators found that Kamruddin used an agent named Saleem to recruit clients facing financial or health problems. He performed a ritual known as Dhanvarsha, which involved wrapping cash in a shawl to demonstrate supposed powers. Laxmi Devi became involved after her husband lost his job and later recruited other women for the practice.

Kamruddin began offering remedies in Uttar Pradesh before moving to Ghaziabad in 2010, where he adopted occult methods. In the 2014 case, a woman from Rajasthan was allegedly killed on his instructions after she sought help to conceive. Police recovered a diary and phone records listing multiple women during the latest investigation.
