Delhi traffic head constable killed in hit-and-run at Singhu border

A Delhi Traffic Police head constable named Amit was killed in a hit-and-run incident while on duty at the Singhu border on Wednesday evening.

The victim was regulating traffic around 6 p.m. when a speeding vehicle struck him. He sustained critical injuries and was taken to Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital in Narela, where he was declared brought dead.

The vehicle fled the scene after the collision. Police have identified the vehicle and launched a search operation to trace the driver.

A case has been registered and investigation is in progress. Departmental formalities are being completed and assistance is being extended to the family.
