Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger (CDU) has parted ways with State Secretary Luise Hölscher after less than a year. The decision was announced via email to BMDS staff on Tuesday evening. Rumors of her departure had circulated since February.
In Berlin, Digital Minister Karsten Wildberger (CDU) has dismissed his State Secretary Luise Hölscher. The announcement came Tuesday evening via a short email from the Federal Ministry for Digitalization and State Modernization (BMDS) titled "Personnel Change at BMDS".
Wildberger thanks Hölscher for her "committed and valuable work". He notes that she made a significant contribution during the ministry's setup phase and helped shape its formation. Staff were not surprised due to rumors circulating since February.
Previously, Hölscher served as state secretary in the Federal Ministry of Finance under FDP Minister Christian Lindner, despite her CDU membership. She was regarded as professionally competent there, though cooperation was not always smooth.
At the Digital Ministry, Hölscher oversaw digital economy, digital policy, state modernization, and bureaucracy reduction. This year, she also took over the chairmanship of the IT Planning Council.
