Players from Djurgården have reacted to the success of their Norwegian teammates in the Ice Hockey World Championship. Håvard Salsten and Mathias Emilio Pettersen helped Norway secure its first World Championship medal. The team defeated Canada in overtime in the bronze medal game.
Djurgården defenseman Jesper Pettersson said the Norwegians performed well throughout the tournament in Switzerland. He noted they fought hard and formed a tight group that achieved something historic. Hugo Blixt also expressed admiration for the result. He highlighted how Norway beat both Sweden and the Czech Republic in the group stage before earning the bronze. David Blomgren added that it was good for the players to return with confidence. He mentioned former Djurgården player Max Krogdahl as well in his comments about the achievement. The Norwegian duo had faced some taunts from Swedish teammates during the SHL season. Pettersson described the banter as typical Sweden versus Norway rivalry but said the Norwegians responded strongly on the ice.
