Dodgers prospects could soon join MLB top 100 list

The Los Angeles Dodgers boast the best farm system in baseball, with seven current Top 100 prospects and two recent graduates from the list. MLB Pipeline highlights three more who could break into the rankings with strong 2026 performances. These include shortstop Joendry Vargas, outfielder Ching-Hsien Ko and outfielder Charles Davalan.

The Dodgers have solidified their status as a powerhouse, winning back-to-back World Series titles while building the league's top farm system through smart trades, drafting and player development. Currently, their Top 100 representatives include outfielder Josue De Paula (No. 13), outfielder Zyhir Hope (No. 20), outfielder Eduardo Quintero (No. 34), shortstop/third baseman Alex Freeland (No. 45), outfielder Mike Sirota (No. 64), left-handed pitcher Jackson Ferris (No. 98) and shortstop Emil Morales (No. 100). Outfielder James Tibbs III (No. 8) and right-hander River Ryan (No. 9) recently appeared on the list.

MLB Pipeline identifies three prospects with strong potential to join them. Joendry Vargas, ranked No. 12 overall in the Dodgers' system, signed for $2,077,500 as the No. 3 international prospect in 2023. The 6-foot-3 Dominican shortstop shows average-or-better tools, including right-handed power and a plus arm. However, injuries have limited him to 118 games over three pro seasons, with three injured list stints in 2025 restricting him to 133 plate appearances. He posted a 30.4 percent strikeout rate and 7.4 percent walk rate, but thrived in Rookie ball and faces a key second season at Single-A.

Ching-Hsien Ko, No. 10 in the system, is a 19-year-old outfielder from the 2024 international class who excelled in the U-18 World Cup. At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, the left-handed hitter features natural strength, bat speed and a knack for elevating the ball, paired with a disciplined approach (17.0 percent walks, 19.8 percent strikeouts). He played center field in Rookie ball but shifted to left at Single-A.

Charles Davalan, No. 15, was selected 41st overall in the 2025 Draft from Arkansas. The 21-year-old, 5-foot-9 outfielder slashed .500/.541/.735 in eight Single-A games. His contact-oriented swing, discipline and speed earned a 60 hitting grade, with versatility in center field and second base from college. He could develop more power under Dodgers development.
