Drone attack wounds four people in Chilpancingo mountains

Four people were injured in a presumed attack with explosives launched from drones in El Fresno, Guerrero. Authorities deployed security forces after the incident.

Around 8 a.m., residents of El Fresno reported via social media that they were being attacked from the air with explosive devices. The injured include a woman, a man, a teenager, and a child about five years old.

Some wounded were taken by private vehicle to Coapango for prehospital care, while others were evacuated by air to the state capital. The Government of Guerrero stated that no armed people or suspicious vehicles were observed from the air.

Elements of the Mexican Army, National Guard, State Police, and Municipal Police carried out an operation in the area. The State Public Security Secretariat maintains patrols and overflights with the Air Mobile Unit. No arrests have been reported so far.
