Ethiopia's National Election Board chair Mrs. Melatwork Hailu met with African Union observers. The Russian Orthodox Church representative and the Joint Council of Political Parties confirmed the election was peaceful and free.
Addis Ababa, Ginbot 26, 2018 (FMC) National Election Board chair Mrs. Melatwork Hailu met with the African Union observers' team leader and former Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta. Abune Antony, chair of the Russian Orthodox Church's Department of External Relations, said the election process was peaceful, free and calm. President Taye Atske Selassie received the delegation led by Abune Antony. The Joint Council of Political Parties expressed joy that the election concluded peacefully. The Ethiopian Youth Federation announced that 32,500 youths participated as observers.
