Skånetrafiken's redesigned bus network has doubled 17-year-old Rufus Gustavsson's school commute to two hours a day. His family in Klagshamn has made the tough decision to move. 'We love living in Klagshamn, but we've decided to move,' says his mother Maria Gustavsson.
Rufus Gustavsson, 17, lives in Klagshamn with his family and attends his second year at Malmö Latinskola. Since Skånetrafiken redesigned its bus network, his daily bus commute to school has lengthened to two hours round trip.
The family loves their home in the scenic village of Klagshamn southwest of Malmö, but the increased travel time has become unsustainable. Maria Gustavsson says the decision to move was difficult but necessary for their son's well-being.
'We love living in Klagshamn, but we've decided to move,' she told Sydsvenskan.
Skånetrafiken's network changes have affected many commuters in the region, with Gustavsson's situation highlighting the personal impact on school students.
