Retail sales for Father's Day in Argentina dropped 0.3% in real terms from 2025, according to a survey by the Confederación Argentina de la Mediana Empresa.
The CAME report noted that over 80% of stores offered discounts and financing during the holiday weekend. Despite these efforts, shoppers focused on low-cost items and promotions.
The decline marks the fourth straight year of year-over-year drops. Sales posted declines of -1.7% in 2025, -10.2% in 2024 and -1.2% in 2023.
The best-performing categories were bookstores and clothing, up 2.1%. In contrast, peripheral equipment and cell phones fell 6.1%.
The average ticket reached 78,986 pesos, above last year's nominal value, yet without increasing transaction volume.
