Iran’s Football Federation says FIFA has revoked the ticket allocation set aside for its supporters at the 2026 World Cup group matches in the United States.
The federation confirmed it can no longer supply tickets to fans traveling to the tournament. Iran is scheduled to open against New Zealand on 15 June in Inglewood, California, with further group games against Belgium and Egypt. Each of the 48 participating nations normally receives an allocation worth around eight per cent of stadium capacity. The federation stated that the revocation leaves supporters without official access through national channels. Iran’s squad has already arrived in Tijuana, Mexico, after abandoning plans to train in Arizona. Reports also indicate that some Iranian football officials have been unable to obtain United States visas. FIFA has not yet commented on the claims. The World Cup begins on 11 June.
