Fiorentina sign suspended Bournemouth full-back Jimenez on loan

Fiorentina have completed the signing of Bournemouth full-back Alex Jimenez on a season-long loan deal that includes an option to buy. The move comes after Jimenez was suspended by his parent club amid an investigation into social media allegations.

Fiorentina have signed Bournemouth full-back Alex Jimenez on loan with an option to make the deal permanent.

Jimenez joined Bournemouth from AC Milan on loan last summer and the move was made permanent in February for £17 million. The Spaniard signed a contract that runs until 2031.

However, Jimenez was suspended by the club pending the outcome of an investigation into social media allegations against him. He last played for Bournemouth in a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on May 3.

A Bournemouth statement read: “The club wishes Alex well for the season ahead as he links up with Fiorentina.” Jimenez made 32 appearances for Bournemouth last term, scoring one goal.
