Bahamas police have arrested five American cruise ship passengers on charges including assaulting officers and resisting arrest following a fight at the port in Nassau.
The incident took place on Monday evening at the port in Nassau. Police said the three women and two men became involved in a fight with several other cruise ship passengers.
A violent struggle followed at a police station where officers prepared to search the suspects. One woman allegedly threw a chair through a glass door. One man then kicked out the remaining glass in an attempt to escape.
Four officers were injured, including one who suffered a serious shoulder injury and required hospital treatment. The five suspects face charges of assaulting a police officer, fighting in a public place, resisting arrest, malicious damage, and disorderly behavior.
They remain in custody while the investigation continues.
