France expects sunny and hot weekend with temperatures up to 38°C

Sun will dominate French beaches this weekend with temperatures reaching 38°C in Corsica and a high fire risk in the Southeast.

On Saturday, the sun will shine over most coasts. Temperatures will range from 21 to 26°C on the Channel coasts and reach 30°C on the Atlantic facade. On the Mediterranean, they will fluctuate between 33 and 35°C.

On Sunday, the mercury will rise further in some regions. The Atlantic facade could see 32 to 33°C while the Southeast reaches 34 to 36°C and 38°C in Corsica.

The wind will remain light to moderate, favorable for water activities. Some storms are possible in the east before improvement in the evening. Heat and drought will maintain a high fire risk between the lower Rhône valley, Provence, Languedoc and Corsica.
