Frölunda has secured defenseman Henrik Tömmernes and forward Filip Cederqvist with new multi-year contracts ahead of the summer.
The Swedish club announced the extensions on June 23. Tömmernes, 35, agreed to a deal running through spring 2029. Cederqvist signed a five-year contract that lasts until 2032.
Sports director Fredrik Sjöström praised both players. He called Tömmernes one of the league’s top defensemen and a key leader. Sjöström said Cederqvist is a character player whose best years are ahead of him in a Frölunda jersey.
Tömmernes, a Frölunda product, returns for his tenth season with the senior team after stints abroad. Cederqvist joined from the AHL’s Rochester Americans before the 2024/25 season and said he feels at home in the club and city.
The team will reconvene after summer break in late July to finish preseason preparations.
