A 15-year-old boy has been indicted for the murder of an 86-year-old woman in Grau-du-Roi. He admitted to the crime during police custody.
On June 18 2026, Nîmes prosecutor Cécile Gensac announced at a press conference that the suspect had been indicted for assassination and placed in detention.
The crime occurred on June 11 near a campsite in Grau-du-Roi. The teenager admitted striking the victim from behind with a drill after planning the act and hiding the weapon in a bush.
According to the prosecutor, he described his action as stemming from a “visceral need to do harm” linked to family problems. The family had unsuccessfully sought psychological help for him.
