Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila appeared before the ICPC on July 20, 2026, as part of an investigation into the alleged fake agency PFIPC. A House of Representatives panel separately invited officials including the SGF to explain the body's operations.
Gbajabiamila responded to questions at the ICPC at about 15:00 hrs on Monday after President Bola Tinubu directed a comprehensive probe into the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. His lawyer confirmed full cooperation with the commission.
The President ordered the ICPC to examine forged documents, bank accounts opened with the CBN, and claims by Adeyemi Adeyemi Mathew that he headed the body. The investigation must deliver a report within 30 days.
Separately, a House ad hoc committee in Abuja invited SGF George Akume, Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele and others to appear on July 21. The panel seeks clarity on how PFIPC secured office space at the federal secretariat and inclusion in the 2026 budget.
