Google DeepMind has acquired a minority stake in Fenris Creations, the developer of the long-running space simulation Eve Online, to train its AI models on player behavior in the game's complex universe.
The partnership was announced on May 6. DeepMind will study player actions on isolated offline servers to avoid affecting the live game. The move builds on the AI lab's history of using games such as StarCraft II and Atari titles for model development.
