Government sends 250 kwh genset to hospital in Takengon

The Indonesian government sent a 250 KWH genset to the Hospital in Takengon, Central Aceh, via BNPB helicopter on December 6, 2025. The delivery was necessary due to severed road access from landslides and collapsed bridges. This step aims to ensure optimal health services for disaster-affected residents amid floods.

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, the Indonesian government accelerated the recovery of vital facilities in Aceh by sending a 250 KWH electricity genset to the Hospital in Takengon, Central Aceh. The delivery was carried out using a National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) helicopter because road access to the area remains severed due to landslides and bridge damage along various routes.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated, “On Saturday, December 6, 2025, via BNPB helicopter, a 250 KWH electricity genset was transported to the Hospital in Central Aceh, Takengon.” He emphasized that Takengon is one of the most affected districts, where infrastructure has suffered severe damage.

“Takengon, Central Aceh, is one of the districts where road access is cut off due to landslides and collapsed bridges along various routes,” Teddy added in a written statement on Sunday, December 7, 2025.

Meanwhile, PT PLN and the Ministry of Public Works (PU) continue efforts to repair electrical substations and reopen land routes. “PLN and the Ministry of PU are continuously repairing all electrical substations and providing power supply while opening land routes as quickly as possible,” said Teddy.

The genset delivery is expected to maintain smooth health services at the hospital to serve disaster-affected communities. The government is committed to ongoing cross-ministerial coordination to speed up recovery across Aceh.

President Prabowo Subianto is also monitoring the disaster response with a visit to Aceh on December 7, 2025, his second in recent days, to review evacuation, logistics distribution, and infrastructure recovery.
