Holmes joins cast of comedy feature Trash Mountain

Actor Holmes has joined the expanding cast of the comedy feature Trash Mountain, currently in production in Chicago. The film, written by Caleb Hearon and Ruby Caster, stars Hearon as a 27-year-old gay man navigating family dynamics after his father's death. Directed by Kris Rey, the project features a notable ensemble including Zooey Deschanel and Jacki Weaver.

Plot Overview

Trash Mountain follows Gavin, a 27-year-old gay man thriving in Chicago, who returns to his rural Missouri hometown following the sudden death of his father. The story explores an emotional journey as Gavin, played by Caleb Hearon, and his half-sister Abbi, portrayed by Zooey Deschanel, confront challenging family dynamics and their complicated relationships with the past.

Cast and Crew

The cast includes Caleb Hearon in the lead role, alongside Zooey Deschanel, Jacki Weaver, Kyle Marvin, Jaboukie Young-White, and now Holmes. Holmes is known for roles in the A24/Amazon series Overcompensating, the Fox comedy Welcome to Flatch, and a recurring part in season 4 of HBO Max's Hacks. They also appear in Paul Feig's films Jackpot! and Another Simple Favor, and previously sold a pilot titled Stuck to Hulu with co-creator Caleb Hearon.

Director Kris Rey, whose previous work includes I Used to Go Here, helms the project. Producers include Colin Trevorrow through his Metronome banner, which recently released the comedy Deep Cover. Executive producers are Lilly Wachowski, known for The Matrix and Cloud Atlas, along with Julie Lebedev and Eddie Vaisman for Sight Unseen, Carrie Holt De Lama, Zachary Spicer and Chris Cafero for Five Sticks Productions, and Scott Goldstein for Streeterville Productions.
