These include versions at Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland, each adapted with unique track layouts, music, and pacing to suit local preferences.
In Hong Kong Disneyland, the attraction has functioned primarily as Hyperspace Mountain, featuring Star Wars theming, for several years. This permanent overlay has sparked mixed reactions among visitors, with some appreciating the added storyline and characters, while others favored the original non-themed version.
On February 24, 2026, Hyperspace Mountain entered a closure period described by Disney as involving “operational adjustments.” No specifics on the work have been released, leaving possibilities ranging from maintenance to potential theming changes open. Earlier, in 2025, the park removed an X-Wing starfighter display outside the ride, fueling visitor speculation about the overlay's future.
The shutdown affects more than just Hyperspace Mountain. Mystic Manor, a popular trackless dark ride, also closed on the same date and is scheduled to reopen in March 2026.
These changes occur amid Hong Kong Disneyland's 20th-anniversary festivities, titled “The Most Magical Party of All,” extending through summer 2026. Highlights include the Friendtastic parade with 11 floats and 11 character groups, such as Mickey and Friends, Duffy and Friends, and figures from Encanto like Mirabel and Isabela. The Disney Friends Live: Party at the Castle! show features music, dancing, and characters including Disney Princesses in front of the Castle of Magical Dreams. At night, the Momentous spectacular offers a special 20th-anniversary edition incorporating new stories, drone technology, and projections along Main Street, U.S.A.
