Hong Kong police are searching for a man connected to the death of a 35-year-old woman whose body was found hidden under a bed in his apartment. The woman had been reported missing by her mother, and the scene included the carcasses of four pets. Initial investigations revealed multiple head wounds consistent with blows from a hard object.
Hong Kong police received a report on Monday night from a mother who said her 35-year-old daughter had not returned home after leaving their flat in Sau Mau Ping. Because the woman had a history of suicide attempts, officers classified the case as high-risk and visited her boyfriend's flat in Hei Wah House at Lok Wah South Estate in Kwun Tong in the early hours of Tuesday.
Police and firefighters forced entry into the 250 sq ft unit, which had no power supply and was described as 'small but chaotic.' They initially found three dead dogs and a cat but no sign of the missing woman. After reviewing security footage that confirmed she had not left the building, officers returned and discovered her body 'well concealed' under the bed.
The victim suffered multiple head wounds consistent with blows from a hard object, along with fresh bruises on her limbs and face, police said. Authorities are now hunting for the boyfriend in connection with the suspected murder.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about domestic violence and mental health in Hong Kong, with police urging the public for information.
