Jackson LaCombe named to Team USA for 2026 Olympics

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Jackson LaCombe has been selected to Team USA's roster for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The 25-year-old becomes the third-youngest defenseman on the team and the fifth-youngest overall player. This will mark his first Olympic appearance.

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Jackson LaCombe was named to Team USA’s roster for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, becoming the sixth Duck to represent the United States at a Winter Olympics. LaCombe, born January 9, 2001, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, is the third Ducks defenseman to earn this honor, following Cam Fowler in 2014 and Ryan Whitney in 2010. Other Ducks who have represented Team USA include forward Troy Terry in 2018, forward Bobby Ryan in 2010, and goaltender Guy Hebert in 1998.

LaCombe joins five other Anaheim players selected for the February games: goaltender Lukas Dostal and defenseman Radko Gudas for Czechia, center Leo Carlsson for Sweden, forward Mikael Granlund for Finland, and goaltender prospect Damian Clara for host Italy.

A standout internationally, LaCombe helped Team USA secure gold medals at the 2025 World Championship—its first in 92 years—and the 2021 World Junior Championship. At the 2025 Worlds, he tallied 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points, ranking third in plus/minus with a +11. He added 1 assist in 6 games at the 2021 WJC and represented the U.S. at the 2018 U-18 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

In his NHL career with the Ducks, the 6-foot-2, 208-pound blueliner has 22 goals and 69 assists for 91 points in 197 games. This season, he leads Ducks defensemen with 6 goals, 25 assists, and 31 points in 49 games, while topping the team in average time on ice at 24:26 per game. Last season, he posted 14 goals and 29 assists in 75 games, tying for seventh among NHL defensemen in even-strength goals (12).

Selected 39th overall in the 2019 NHL Draft, LaCombe signed an eight-year extension with Anaheim on October 2, 2025, through 2033-34. At the University of Minnesota, he amassed 19 goals and 80 assists in 140 NCAA games from 2019-23, helping the Golden Gophers reach the Frozen Four in 2020, 2022, and 2023, including the 2023 championship game.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics run February 11-22, with Team USA opening against Latvia on February 12 at 12:10 p.m. PT, airing on USA Network and Peacock.
