JD Vance pushes back against Joe Rogan's MAGA insults

Vice President JD Vance responded to podcast host Joe Rogan's criticism of the Make America Great Again movement, defending its supporters after Rogan called them dorks. Vance made the remarks during an interview on Friday with commentator Benny Johnson. He also disputed Rogan's claims about past Democratic deportation policies.

Vice President JD Vance hit back at Joe Rogan after the podcast host criticized President Donald Trump's Make America Great Again slogan and its followers. On a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience with comedian Dave Smith, Rogan said the phrase sucks and described MAGA as a movement of a bunch of f*cking dorks. He remarked, First of all, America is great. Make America greater? I’m down. But Make America Great Again and then it becomes a movement of a bunch of f*cking dorks? Because a lot of them are dorks. A lot of them are these really weird, f*cking uninteresting, unintelligent people that have got something that they cling to. Rogan added, there’s a lot of people that are just real genuine patriots and they’re all lumped into this one group and you got to accept the dorks, too? F*ck that! Vance, who appeared on Rogan's podcast in October 2024, addressed the comments during an interview with Benny Johnson on March 27. I think we have many, many fewer dorks than the far-Left, Vance said. But everybody’s got some dorks. We love our dorks. We love our cool kids. We love anybody who wants to save our country. In another episode this week, Rogan claimed Democrats like Hillary Clinton held more stringent border views than current MAGA positions and that Barack Obama deported more people than Trump. Vance called this wrong, saying he planned to text Rogan. He explained that Obama-era numbers counted border turnaways as deportations, whereas now the border is secure with almost no one showing up. Rogan and Smith supported Trump and Vance in the 2024 election but have grown critical of Trump's foreign policy, Epstein files handling, and Iran actions, despite polls showing supporter backing.
