Loulu Gilberto, João Gilberto's youngest daughter, is set to release her debut album on Sony this month. The announcement appeared in Mônica Bergamo's column in Folha de S.Paulo.
The album features "O Amor nos Encontrou", composed by Carlos Lyra and Ronaldo Bôscoli, performed by her father in a rare home recording. That version had been the only known record of João Gilberto singing the song.
Production is led by Cézar Mendes, a 2021 Latin Grammy winner and friend of João Gilberto, and Mario Adnet, with two Latin Grammys. The release links the new generation to the bossa nova and MPB legacy.
