Julio Vázquez, an influencer from Nuevo León, became the first confirmed participant in MasterChef 24/7 after winning a contest among content creators.
The reality show revealed its first contestant days before the premiere. Vázquez stood out in the competition by preparing dishes alongside other influencers such as Lisa Baez and La Abue Angie. Participants cooked for the judges and stayed isolated for 24 hours on set.
Vázquez gained popularity during the pandemic with videos of simple cooking, mixology and northern recipes on TikTok and Instagram. His charismatic style and family recipes connected him with millions of followers.
The season starts on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. central time. It will air on Azteca UNO, the TV Azteca app and continuously on Disney+.
