Distribution of enumeration forms for the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka surpassed the halfway mark on July 4 with over 2.78 crore forms delivered.
Booth Level Officers distributed 27,821,970 forms, covering 50.19 percent of the state's 55,432,314 electors, as of 6 p.m. on July 4. The house-to-house exercise began on June 30 and is set to run until July 29.
Officials reported that 1,788,330 forms have been digitised so far. Additionally, 77,624 electors submitted forms online through the Election Commission of India portal.
Kalaburagi district recorded the highest distribution at 14.57 lakh forms, followed by Belagavi and Tumakuru. In Bengaluru, progress remained lower across the North, South and Central divisions.
During verification, officials identified 13,859 deceased electors and 11,697 who had permanently shifted. District Election Officers in areas with reported allegations must provide explanations by Monday.
