Katten announced that three of its partners have been named to Citywealth's list of Top 50 Crypto Professionals. The recognition highlights the firm's leadership in digital asset markets and regulatory policy. Lance A. Zinman, Daniel J. Davis, and Matthew F. Kluchenek were selected for their expertise in cryptocurrency and blockchain.

On November 19, 2025, Katten, a full-service law firm with approximately 700 attorneys across the United States, London, and Shanghai, announced that three partners—Lance A. Zinman, Daniel J. Davis, and Matthew F. Kluchenek—were named to Citywealth's global ranking of Top 50 Crypto Professionals. Citywealth, a news and networking platform for the global private wealth industry, curated the list through research by its editorial team.

Zinman, Global Chair of Katten's Financial Markets and Funds department, commented: "This recognition highlights Katten's leadership in shaping the global digital asset markets and regulatory policy, reflecting the firm's integral role in helping define how innovation and compliance coexist in the evolving crypto ecosystem." He added: "Since the inception of cryptocurrency trading, Katten's Financial Markets and Funds and Financial Markets Litigation and Enforcement teams have been at the forefront of digital asset-related law—helping the world's largest crypto players launch products, secure regulatory approvals, resolve enforcement disputes, and navigate US and international frameworks without sacrificing speed and innovation."

Zinman, a member of Katten's Executive Committee and Board of Directors, also serves on the Board of Directors for the MFA (formerly the Managed Funds Association). He has been recognized by Crain's Chicago Business on its 40 Under 40 and Notable Gen X Leaders in Accounting, Consulting and Law lists, and by The American Lawyer as a Midwest Trailblazer. He advises clients on crypto assets, blockchain technology, and regulatory issues.

Davis, Co-Chair of the Financial Markets and Regulation practice and based in Washington, DC, previously served as General Counsel at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). He participated in developing cryptocurrency and blockchain from a regulatory perspective and testified before the US House Committee on Financial Services in May 2025 on the future of digital assets. The National Law Journal named him a Cryptocurrency/Blockchain/Fintech Trailblazer.

Kluchenek, based in Chicago and a partner in Financial Markets Litigation and Enforcement, was formerly associate general counsel at CME Group, Inc. He advises on regulatory matters involving the CFTC and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including innovative crypto products like crypto collateral and hashrate swaps. He is an adjunct professor at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, teaching "The Derivatives Markets and Legal Practice," which covers digital assets.

Katten's financial services practice, ranked in the Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies and Crypto-Asset Disputes categories in the Chambers FinTech 2025 guide, provides integrated counsel on transactional, regulatory, and enforcement issues in digital assets.
