The Ministry of Coordinating for Community Empowerment is holding Pasar 1001 Malam from March 11-13, 2026, in Banda Aceh to bolster local UMKM while emphasizing humanitarian aspects. The event targets post-disaster communities with various social and economic programs. Deputy Leontinus Alpha Edison stressed the integration of economic strengthening and social care.
The Ministry of Coordinating for Community Empowerment (Kemenko PM) is organizing the Pasar 1001 Malam event at the former Hotel Aceh Field in Banda Aceh, from March 11 to 13, 2026. The initiative aims to enhance the performance of local micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM), while prioritizing humanitarian actions and social solidarity, particularly for communities affected by disasters.
Deputy for Coordinating Community Economic Empowerment and Migrant Worker Protection at Kemenko PM, Leontinus Alpha Edison, stated that humanitarian aspects are inseparable from the empowerment strategy. "Pasar 1001 Malam is not just an economic transaction center, but a platform for humanitarian action," he said in a written statement on March 11, 2026.
The program utilizes idle government and state-owned enterprise assets to create affordable creative compounds. In Aceh, the event incorporates a strong Ramadan theme, featuring a bazaar and expo for culinary items and crafts, as well as the Panggung Talenta Da’i Cilik stage to develop children's potential.
Additionally, free health clinics offer basic medical check-ups, and the UMKM Bangkit Clinic, in collaboration with the Aceh Provincial Government and Banda Aceh City Government, provides business legality assistance. Leontinus added, "We aim to create experiences that are not only visually appealing through concepts like Coffee Truck and interactive talkshows, but also deliver real impacts on community welfare and health."
As part of the event series, Kemenko PM will distribute ready-to-eat processed food to flood survivors, hand over 103 temporary housing units in collaboration with Rumah Zakat, and provide 1,000 yellow books to pesantren in North Aceh and Aceh Tamiang. Synergy among government, private sector, and communities is expected to achieve dignified economic independence.
