Enap announced a new $107.4 per liter increase in kerosene (parafina) prices, adding to last week's $107.9 rise, pushing Santiago prices near $1,400. The government is reviewing changes to Mepco and FEPP amid Middle East conflict pressures and fiscal constraints. Minister García Ruminot said a proposal will be resolved soon.
The National Petroleum Company (Enap) reported that starting Thursday, March 19, the reference price of kerosene will rise $107.4 per liter, following a similar $107.9 increase last week. In Santiago, parafina will approach $1,400 per liter, according to La Tercera data. Other fuels like gasoline, diesel, and vehicular LPG show $0 variations this week; new gasoline prices will be announced next Wednesday, as they adjust every three weeks by Enap, which does not set final prices—distributors do, factoring in U.S. Gulf Coast import costs, shipping, and mechanisms like Mepco and FEPP.
